A hands-on half day (4+/- hours) introductory blacksmithing class in the Graber Forge shop focusing on the basic elements of forging steel. We'll discuss shop safety, equipment usage and basic metal-movement principles before forging several decoravtive and functional pieces from available steel, demonstrating a variety of blacksmithing techniques. There is no time limit to the class, we go until we finish. All tools, materials and safety equipment will be provided.The student(s) will leave with their own sculptural pieces and tools made during the class.
